Tuscora Park
Ever since I heard of Tuscarora Park in New Phildelphia, Ohio I’ve always wanted to take the munchkin there.
Then I found out a friend used to go there all the time because that’s their hometown. She said that they usually try to go once a year at least. So in the beginning of the summer I asked her to make a date with us to go there so that I can get it on the calendar. That date was July 17, 2010.
RTY Inc. is located within Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia, Ohio. RTY Inc. is responsible for the Operation of the Tuscora Park Amusement Rides, Concessions, Catering, Amphitheater concerts and Park Place Teen Center.
The mission of RTY Inc. is to help keep Tuscora Park a safe and affordable place for family enjoyment. All proceeds are reinvested at the Park to operate, maintain and preserve public facilities.
I’m so grateful that we did! I try to live life w/o regrets. A common regret people get is not setting a goal for things “they’ve always wanted to do”. I’ve tried very hard this summer to make a goal for things I’ve “always wanted to do”

Enlarge My Territory
My family has been going through some very difficult hardship for almost two years now. It’s an incredible story that actually started about four years ago.
In a nutshell, we’ve been pretty viciously attacked by someone we once called friend. As all vicious attacks, this one too is filled with lies and cheats and grave defamation of character. It’s almost like I’m writing a page of a novel, but instead of reading it we’re actually living the nightmare.
Perhaps some day I’ll get in with the specific details, but just for today I’ll go over an insight I received from my great teacher.
Before I get into the light bulb that’s been turned on, I need to give another background.
Tennis Lessons
There is a professional tennis coach who is willing to give tennis lessons to a group or to individuals. Obviously if we can get a group together the cost becomes less.
If we can get a group of 4 together each child would be $15/hr. If we could get a group of 5 or 6, it’ll be $10/hr each. If you want private one on one I’ll have to ask how much it is, I was just inquiring about the group lessons.
The lessons would be Medina just off of Medina Line road and we could get it started as soon as people are ready even within the next week or two. He’s really booked in the evenings (at the moment) with a lot of private and group lessons.
He’s WONDERFUL with kids and and coach any grade / age level, even adults!
If you would like to get your child(ren) into some tennis lessons please leave your contact information. As soon as we can get a group of 4 to 6 I’ll contact everyone on the start date ~ hopefully we can get it pretty soon!
We could get like a 9:30 or 10 am class so that its not too early and not getting to be too hot.
Thank you!

The Country School Farm Camp
The Country School Farm Camp, or TCS Summer Camp has kicked off! TCS is a residential farm camp experience in Ohio’s Amish settlement.
This is from their site:
The farm is for children who love animals and who, themselves, choose to attend. The experience is not for the socially troubled. Most children enroll in one session each summer and this is quite adequate for a meaningful experience. Some, however, want more and this can work if there are at least two weeks of rest at home between attended sessions. Each week enrolls thirty-six children.
At exactly 8:43am, we were the first in line today to drop off our daughter to be one of 35 campers that the Barkers will have for this week.
They do such an amazing job! Penny and Richard are so soft spoken and kind and simple. They are exactly what children need!
Our daughter just absolutely loves that camp! I can see how she’ll want to keep coming year after year after year. She’ll never grow tired of that camp! I think the year she figures she’s too old for it, will make her very sad. For now though, she has A LOT of years ahead of her to enjoy and look forward to keep coming to the camp!
I love the fact that she loves it so much that I’ve just finished creating a facebook group for it. They don’t allow pens on the camp. They have a very specific list that they’d like for you to bring and they don’t share your information with other parents EVEN if your child begs to keep in touch with certain others. So I decided to have it go social and create a facebook page for it!
I will post more pictures later! Until then, meet you down at the farm!
Thoughts on Calling Play-by-Play for the Moosin MMA PPV
Broadcasting the Moosin: God of Martial Arts pay-per-view Friday May 21, 2010 in Worcester, Mass., was the best experience I’ve had in my broadcasting career thus far!
We had a super hot crowd that was especially vocal for the Polish guys. Mariusz Pudzianowski had a spectacular Polish rap entrance that brought the house down.
We had a great time calling the fights. Tom Megalis was the party host and also handled the post-fight interviews. Tom is a professional performer and studied very hard. He has a bright future as an MMA announcer.
Bas Rutten, an all-time legend of the sport, described the technical aspects of the game. The fans gave him the star treatment and even asked for photos with him while we were on the air!
I researched the fighters for the other announcers and TV crew, and called the play-by-play. I also conducted the “talking head” interviews that were shown before the fights.
Moosin Main Event in Boston Massachusettes
I am announcing the main even of Moosin’s debut. Tim Sylvia vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski.
Moosin USA PPV Tonight! Weigh-In Results and Preview
I’m in Worcester, Mass., preparing to announce tonight’s Moosin: God of Martial Arts pay-per-view
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. The fights start at 8 p.m., and the pay-per-view comes on at 9.
MAIN EVENT: Tim Sylvia (305) vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski (273)
The two-time UFC heavyweight champ, Sylvia, battles the five-time World’s Strongest Man, Pudzianowski. The Polish hero has won his first two fights, but this will be his toughest test by far.
Josh Barnes (262) vs. Travis Wiuff (253)
Indiana native Barnes is a late sub for Mu Bae Choi. Wiuff, who hails from Minnesota, has 60 victories in his career.
Travis Lutter (185) vs. Rafael Natal (185)
Lutter, “The Serial Killer,” won the fourth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Natal, nicknamed “Sapo” (frog), trains in the Gracie Fusion camp.
Yves Edwards (157) vs. Mike Campbell (156)
Edwards, “The Texas Gunslinger,” is originally from the Bahamas and attacks his opponents with an unorthodox style. Campbell, a Boston native, will have strong crowd support.
Tara LaRosa (130) vs. Roxie Modaffieri (128)
This is a rematch of their wild 2006 battle that ended in a decision win for La Rosa. They rank No. 2 and No. 3 in the world in the 135-pound category.
OTHER BOUTS
Ho Jin Kim (196) vs. Lukasz “Juras” Jurkowski (214)
Ralph Johnson (173) vs. Forrest Petz (170.5)
Matt Lee (170.5) vs. Brett Oteri (175.5)
Fred Belleton (185) vs. Anthony Lapsley (185)
Paul Barry (245) vs. Stipe Miosic (241)

Can the World’s Strongest Man Win Two Fights in Two Weeks?
MMA fans in Poland have been thrilled to see national hero Mariusz Pudzianowski kick off his career in the cage with a pair of wins in his homeland.
Two weeks after a unanimous decision win over Yusuke Kawaguchi, the “Dominator” will battle former UFC champion Tim Sylvia in the main event of the Moosin: God of Martial Arts pay-per-view this Friday in Worcester, Mass.
The Polish-language media turned out at press conferences in Boston and New York City when the Sylvia-Dominator bout was announced.
Pudzianowski also had the firm support of his people when he finished second on his country’s version of “Dancing with the Stars.”
He will have to do more than dance with Sylvia; Pudzianowski must avoid the heavy bombs that Sylvia loves to throw from his 6-foot-8 vantage point.
If Pudzianowski can use his power advantage to defeat Sylvia after winning a fight just two weeks earlier, then the MMA world may have its next breakout heavyweight star.
(Jeff D. Gorman will be calling the play-by-play for this Friday’s night’s Moosin MMA pay-per-view. Check it out!)

TODAY’S HEADLINES!
At the end of the each year, news shows and papers always talk about the Top Events of the Year. Also, at the end of each year, I want to write my own Top Events, but I can never remember what happened that made that year so eventful.
I’ve decided I’m going to start periodically jot down what makes 2010 so eventful. Even though we are one-quarter of the way through the year already. These are just going to be “jots”. I will not attempt to give you in-depth insights to the happenings. There are too many sites that have detailed what had happened. I will only give quick recaps.
So tonight in the news they spoke of three major things; crime, finances and fame. Read more »
Moosin MMA Pay-per-view Countdown to May 21: Tim Sylvia
Tim Sylvia will face the unknown on May 21 as he battles the pride of Poland, Mariusz Pudzianowski, in the main event of the Moosin: God of Martial Arts PPV in Worcester, Mass.
Over the next three weeks, I’ll be profiling the fighters and previewing the bouts on this show, which I will announce along with Tom Megalis and former UFC heavyweight champ Bas Rutten.
Sylvia is a two-time UFC heavyweight kingpin, and he will try to bounce back from a knockout loss to boxing legend Ray Mercer. He will face the five-time World’s Strongest Man, an unknown commodity who won his only MMA fight so far in less than 50 seconds.
I just watched both of Sylvia’s UFC wins over Andre Arlovski (thanks, Netflix!), and Sylvia showed that he loves to use his size and punching power. He needs to stick with this strategy, because who wants to try to control the world’s strongest man on the ground?
Next: A look at Pudzianowski, a hero in his native Poland.

Kent State May 4th Expressions
Professors speak on a forum and citizens are invited to express their feelings and thoughts through art in celebration of May 4th 1970 tragedy.

Here’s two articles I wrote about how this memorial will be commemorated.

Montrose Zion United Methodist Church
We’ll be married for 8 years this May 4th.
It’s taken us this long to finally find a church of which we can call home. We’ve searched for quite a few years, practically all our married life. We’ve been attending Montrose Zion United Methodist Church on Cleveland-Massillon Rd. for a year now.
We’re so happy there! Finally a place we consider home!
Our Journey There
When my wife was single, she was attending a Chapel that she LOVED! She was so involved with the international student ministry on Friday nights and teaching the children at Cubby Bear on Wednesday nights. When we were engaged and first married, I’d help her with her duties. When she had to be on bed rest during her pregnancy, obviously we had to stop. She absolutely loved serving in these capacities; however, she never found a Sunday School where she was comfortable in. Read more »

New Adventure!
Today we went geocaching for the first time.
Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache.
It was fun and sad at the same time. It was fun because it was a great family outing, but sad because we couldn’t find it.
Our kiddo cried. She was so looking forward to “swaping out” the item. I was disappointed too! I even jumped a fence! I emailed the cacher, but we’ll see if we get a response.
We are looking forward to our next cache, but we’ll have to have a successful one so that our daughter won’t have yet another disappointment!
Have you “geocached” before? What were your experiences?

Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker
Undertaker has amassed a 17-0 streak at Wrestlemania, making this match more significant than both world title matches and the Bret Hart-Vince McMahon match.
Either this incredible streak will end, or we will see Shawn Michaels wrestle for the last time. This was an unforgettable moment two years ago when Shawn retired Ric Flair (until he came back last month in TNA…grrrr…don’t get me started).
